CO2 Monitors In Place

19th Nov 2021

I heard on the BBC NI News this week that only about 50 out of the 1000+ schools in Northern Ireland (or 5% of schools) have asked for CO2 monitors to be installed to check their air quality.

We have ours installed in every classroom and they are just one more way we try to keep our pupils as safe as possible during the ongoing pandemic.

The idea is that rooms where the CO2 is high…are also rooms where there is too little ventilation and the Virus could spread more easily.  Keeping the CO2 build-up low, means that there is plenty of air movement, and the chance of the Virus spreading is also lowered.

The monitors are handily lit…Green for ‘Good’, Yellow and Amber for ‘Borderline’ and Red for ‘Poor’.

As we try to ‘live with the virus’ and keep the children as safe as possible…our CO2 monitors are a visible reminder to help us !
