Mental Health In Primary 7

9th Feb 2024

This week as part of Children’s Mental Health week, Primary 7 have been discussing different strategies to help our wellbeing and look after our mental health.

Activities have included a chance to express ourselves through music, hobbies and free art. As part of the whole school theme of Positivitea – the children have made clay mugs, which they will use to spread positive messages next term. Thank you to all the children who donated to Action Mental Health, for the non-uniform part of our ‘Express Yourselves’ day.

The final activity this week was around the right to express an opinion and the importance of sharing our thoughts. The children had a series of questions to discuss with other people, from the serious to the more superficial. From what they would say to the Prime Minister if they had 5 minutes to whether they prefer donuts or chips.  This morning we finished with a series of debates where the children spoke in favour or against a motion of their choosing. This might just mark the start of the Central Debate club!
